Maybe I'm a Leo

I mentioned yesterday that I was a classic rock fan... snob may be just as accurate... but while there are countless great artists that can fall under such a broad category, there are also a handful of bands that stick out and remain focal points of popular culture. The Beatles, long since broken up, are one of these. The Rolling Stones, still preforming, are another. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, The Who, The Doors, and Pink Floyd are a few more examples. Another example that sticks out in particular for me as of right now is a band implemental in the forging of hard rock and heavy metal. An ultra-talented band that got their start in the late 60's and had their breakthrough in the early-70's with a 6-minute epic about a car and iconic track noted for its incredibly popular riff. I among many muscians feel a personal connection due to most of us having learned our first riff on our Fender squires off their record. This band's incredible talent and charisma has been a constant influence on me and many others, so you can imagine my pants exploding after gaining this nugget of information:

Deep Purple in Vancouver - February 26th

I will get tickets and they will be good seats... or I'm going to take a flare gun and burn Queen Elizabeth Theatre to the ground, now.
